Dear Parents,

We are writing to inform you of several requests and strategies that have been given to your child in order to insure that they are always prepared for their weekly Physical Education classes. Our students will receive PE twice a week this year. We require our Students to be prepared for class by wearing their gym gear which consists of shorts, T-shirt, sweats or track pants and appropriate sneakers (no high sole sneakers, no shoes, no slippers and hiking boots) to participate. In order to achieve maximum participation, the following strategies have been given:

1)      Your child should have their schedule marked in their agenda book. We are on a five day Monday to Friday schedule this year and making note of when they have Physical Education is important. Both Mr. Carew and Mr. Saleski have a copy of  the class schedules on their Web Pages.

2)      Check your agenda and pack your gear the night before class.

3)      Always have an extra set of gear in your locker as “backup”.

4)      If the backup set gets used and requires washing, bring in a fresh replacement so you will always be prepared for class.

5)      A note or e-mail from parents is required (before class begins if possible) if your child must sit out due to injury or illness.  The key is for students to do their best at all times and of course miss as little of class time possible. If the illness or injury requires students to miss several classes, a doctor’s excuse is required. Students are assessed on their daily performance with regards to achieving the outcomes.

Thank you for your support. Please complete the bottom portion of this letter and have your daughter/son return it to their Physical Education teacher on their next PE class. below. Please keep the top portion for further reference. Thanks you for your support.

Sincerely,

M.Carew
